A natural liver cleanse is a powerful transformational tool that can restore health and balance to your entire body. The process takes time, but the results can be dramatic and well beyond what traditional medicine can do.
When your body's natural detoxification system gets overwhelmed, bile in your liver and gallbladder becomes thick with poisons that get recycled rather than released. This forms sludge and gallstones wherever you have bile.
Hundreds, even thousands, of stones can clog your liver and gallbladder until very little bile is left for digestion and detox. The resulting malnutrition and toxicity can leave your body defenseless and no longer able to heal itself.
There are two ways to decongest and heal your liver and gallbladder. The first is to expel gallstones through an oil and citrus liver cleanse. It is a decisive way to get results you can literally see. The second category is broader and includes nutritional support and other techniques that gently melt the stones away.
The oil and citrus liver cleanse involves dietary restriction that allows bile pressure to build. Certain ingredients or techniques may soften the stones, relax the ducts, or clear the digestive tract. The climax is drinking an oil and citrus mix, which triggers the forceful release of bile-lubricated stones.
If you prefer a gentler and less dramatic approach, dissolving the stones through herbal and nutritional support can be equally effective.
Many people get their start with a classic Dr. Hulda Clark liver flush. It is easiest and perhaps best. Andreas Moritz follows the same format but includes malic acid to soften the stones in advance. If you are new at liver cleansing, start here.
Here is what your detox day will look like with either of these cleanses. I think it helps to have a quick reference to demystify the process a bit. Feel free to adjust the schedule to your preferred bedtime, but keep the time intervals intact.
|Before 2 p.m.||Eat a fat-free breakfast and lunch.|
|At 2 p.m.||Stop eating and drinking. Mix 4 tablespoons Epsom salt and 3 cups water. Refrigerate for better taste.|
|At 6 p.m.||Drink 3/4 cup Epsom salt mixture.|
|At 8 p.m.||Drink 3/4 cup Epsom salt mixture. Squeeze the juice of 1 or 2 grapefruits (1/2 to 3/4 cup) into a jar with a tight lid. Make preparations so you are ready to be in bed by 10 p.m.|
|At 10 p.m.||Add 1/2 cup olive oil to the jar; cover and shake. Drink the mixture then immediately lie down on your right side. Try to stay still for at least 20-30 minutes. Go to sleep.|
|After 6 a.m.||Drink 3/4 cup Epsom salt mixture.|
|2 hours later.||Drink 3/4 cup Epsom salt mixture.|
|2 more hours||Eat regular food, but keep it light.|
These recipes are nice for a change of pace, and none of them use Epsom salt.
My personal bias for eliminating stones is the traditional oil and citrus liver flush. But I do understand the desire for more gentle cleansing, and I've included some methods below.
