Daily lemon detox

This whole-lemon detox drink tastes better than your average liver flush potion and takes the healing power of lemon water to a whole new level.

Lemon juice on its own helps improve digestion, dissolve kidney stones and gallstones, thin mucus, and balance blood sugar and fluid levels.

Lemon juice also liquefies bile and stimulates cleansing in the liver and gallbladder. 

Even Better with Olive Oil

When you add just a splash of olive oil to that phenomenal whole-lemon nutrition, great things happen. Olive oil further stimulates bile flow and lubricates the ducts to expel toxic bile and debris more easily. Lemon peel completes the cleanse with extra vitamin C, fiber, bioflavonoids for healthy circulation, and the anti-cancer properties of limonene.

Lemon Detox Recipe

Ingredients

Gradually improve liver function with lemon detox
  • 1 whole lemon, organic if possible
  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil or other liver flush oil
  • 1-1/2 c. filtered water

Directions

Wash the lemon then cut into small chunks. Toss the lemon, oil, and water in a blender, and blend at high speed for one minute. Strain lightly if desired, then enjoy.

For best results, drink this on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, then wait 30-60 minutes before eating. But anytime you are in a semi-fasting state and can delay eating will work, including right before bed.

Do this daily for at least 4-6 weeks along with a healthy liver cleansing diet.

Notes for Success

If you are new to liver cleansing, start with half a lemon and half the oil.

Consider following a liver cleansing diet

The outer yellow zest is flavorful, but the white rind beneath is bitter. Add less rind if desired by using just half the peel, especially if the lemon has a thick skin.

Adjust the flavor slightly with a pinch of stevia or other natural sweetener. You can also replace some or all of the water with fresh-squeezed orange juice.

Of all the citrus fruits, lemon is most detoxifying to the liver. It also helps normalize pH levels. Just by adding this drink and extra lemon to your diet wherever possible (even a lemon slice in water), you will help your liver and whole body cleanse and heal faster.
